The Wall Street two stamp mill is located in the Joshua Tree National Park. The dry desert air along with the corrugated roof and heavy timbers have kept the old mill remarkably preserved. A long ore cart track supplied ore to the Baker Iron Works stamps from trucks from the nearby Desert Queen Mine.
shot and killed “Worth Bagley”
The mills builder, Bill Keys shot and killed “Worth Bagley” over a dispute regarding access to the mine. The tombstone Keys created commemorating the event still exist.
A bit of a hike at 1.5 miles round trip from the trail head but certainly worth it. How often do you see an intact two stamp mill with cloth belts, amalgamation table, and spare stamp heads laying around?

There is a fence around this mill. You aren’t supposed to cross the fence and enter the mill building
