Want to buy a gold mine? There are plenty for sale near Standard Hill, W. W. Bowers first found gold here in March of 1894. There are dozens of mines and ruins to match in the area around Standard Hill and to the west at Reefer City. Many mines and ruins can be seen throughout the area on the satellite images, scroll around on the map a bit. Several graves exist as well. To the south are the mines of the Golden Queen which is currently under renovation and permit to begin mining again. Much of it is open pit but many shafts exist as well.
