Located along the 1 mile El Cariso Nature trail is an abandoned mine with an unsealed entrance. A favorite spot among hikers and an easy hike. Access to the El Cariso Trail head is behind the USFS visitors center on Ortega Highway. I have no information on this mine and nothing pops up on the usual sources not even USGS Topo.
