Located in Mesquite Canyon between Burro Schmidt Tunnel and Garlock lies a group of six tunnels according to USGS Historic Topo. I couldn’t find any real history on the mines other than they were or are owned by “Sun Group of Mines” and the mines were actually mining gold. It was dark as we passe through Mesquite Canyon so we didn’t explore all the tunnels. We only stopped at one which we drove right up to and shined our headlights into. Not deep and not much to look at here except some trash and debri.
