I added the Hiller Tunnel as a mine to visit because the 600 ft long tunnel is about as authentic as it gets. Though the tunnel is not a mine shaft it is a drain tunnel. The tunnel was dug to drain thousands of tons of water and tailings.
Located off the Diggins trail at the Malakoff Diggins park, you get to walk through the long tunnel. But be forewarned it is very wet and dark so wear proper shoes and bring lights!
