The Green Mine is located just east of Mi-Wuk Village. I found it on a USGS Historic Topo map showing a shaft and a structure, I also found some data showing it was a gold mine. We were in the area so we decided to check it out and hope for the best. Sadly it was a bust. The adit had obviously collapsed many decades ago as some very big trees were growing up through it. Collapsed it was still close to 30′ deep and not something you want to fall in. 0No sign of a structure either. The old mine is now a hot spot for illegal dumping and filled with tires, appliances and trash not unlike many of the historic mines we have checked out.
