According to Mindat.org the Hambey operated from 1900 to 1916 and sooner. Workings include underground openings comprised of a vertical 300 foot shaft with levels at 200 feet (the vein is 220 feet from the shaft at this depth), and at 300 feet.
The headframe is all-steel construction and appears still serviceable. The shaft is verticle and goes down to an unknown depth. There is no cap over the shaft’s collar, only a small fence, so the mine could be accessed very easily, if one wanted to. I am very interested in learning more about this mine. if anyone has any information, please post it.

The metal headframe and metal building are new. There was some work done at this site in the 1980s, as I recall.
