Mining began in the 1850’s with an 8 stamp mill added in 1867. The mine reached a depth of 3030′ on incline and a drift connected to the Bunker Hill Mine to the south. Mining ceased in 1922. This is the first headframe I have seen made of concrete. You can literately spit on the ruins yards below Fremont Mine Road.
