Not much is known about the Ryan Mine except it has a 400′ deep shaft and produced 1700 tons of ore in 1940.

We were able to drive right up to the entrance by traveling an extremely washed out and steep road. We were not sure if we were going to get back up the road without a winch, its that bad and you certainly need a small 4×4.

The road at the adit is a mush because of a nearby spring. The adit is almost complete covered with eroded dirt and very old and large tree roots. We didn’t enter very far but we could see it was a popular party spot from the trash. We never found the nearby structure shown on an old topo map but we did see lots of sheet metal, pipes and other evidence mining had occurred here.
